The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority has launched the Maritime Logistics Youth Employment Academy.
On the 4th, Pyeongtaek Port Authority announced that it held the entrance ceremony for the "2024 2nd Gyeonggi-do Maritime Logistics Youth Employment Academy" at the Korea International Logistics Association.
This academy will run for four weeks from the orientation held on the same day until October 14.
The training focuses on practical theory, including directly preparing shipping invoices and bills of lading, and includes a visit to Pyeongtaek Port, the only international trade port in Gyeonggi-do, to experience export and import sites firsthand. Additionally, special employment lectures will be provided, where professionals from leading domestic companies and previous academy participants will share know-how related to employment.
Kim Seok-gu, President of Pyeongtaek Port Authority, emphasized, "The role of the port authority includes port development and port marketing, and now we will further expand opportunities to nurture talent in maritime logistics to solve the chronic mismatch problem in maritime logistics jobs and strive to provide 'more employment opportunities.'"
Meanwhile, the first Gyeonggi-do Maritime Logistics Youth Employment Academy held in June recorded an employment rate of 82%, with 23 out of 28 trainees securing jobs.
