The Pukyong National University students were honored with the Grand Prize for their work titled "053 Daegu Barrier-Free Tourism with the Daegu Area Code" at this contest, which was co-hosted by Daegu City and the Dalgubeol Center for Independent Living for the Disabled. The prize money is 1 million KRW.
They visited Daegu, starting from Dongdaegu Station, and personally explored places such as the Daegu Modern History Museum, Daegu Aquarium, accommodations, restaurants, and markets. They introduced the charms of the region and locations and produced a video guiding viewers through facilities for people with disabilities, earning high praise.
In this contest, which aimed to discover barrier-free tourism content in Daegu from the perspective of people with disabilities, their work received high scores for suitability, creativity, visual quality, delivery, and practical applicability, which were the judging criteria.
In particular, the Pukyong National University students received a positive response for their video, which highlighted five barrier-free facilities and food spots and three attractions, inspired by Daegu's area code 053.
The award ceremony for this contest was held on August 28 at the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Design Center Convention Hall.
