Hope Bridge Announces Support Project Contest for Wildfire Areas in Gyeongbuk and Gangwon... Total Scale of 8.7 Billion KRW

The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced on the 4th that it will invite organizations to carry out projects worth a total of 8.7 billion KRW to help restore communities in the Gyeongbuk and Gangwon regions affected by the large-scale wildfires that occurred in 2022. The project areas include facility infrastructure, regional economic revitalization, socio-cultural activities, environmental conservation and ecosystem restoration, daily life recovery, and research and development related to wildfire-affected areas.


The support scale is approximately 7 billion KRW for Uljin County, 1 billion KRW for Samcheok City, 577.14 million KRW for Donghae City, and 114 million KRW for Gangneung City, totaling about 8.7 billion KRW. The project period is from November this year to June next year, with schedules subject to change depending on each project.


Eligibility for application is limited to nonprofit organizations or institutions engaged in public interest activities in fields such as disaster relief, welfare, health and medical care, education, culture, and environment. Applicants must be located within the affected regions and have been established for more than one year as of the announcement date. Applications are accepted until the 20th of this month.


Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, “This project is a meaningful effort to support the economic and psychological recovery of communities still struggling after the disaster,” and added, “We hope that many capable organizations will show interest and participate to achieve practical results.”
