The event will begin with an opening ceremony on the 4th and continue until the 6th, featuring keynote speeches, academic conferences, and side events such as science fairs, science markets, science shows, and hands-on programs throughout the Gwacheon Science Museum.
Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT, said in a video congratulatory message at the opening ceremony, “Science museums play an important role in making science and technology, which can often seem difficult to the public, more accessible, and provide talented individuals who will lead the future with opportunities to grow as scientists contributing to human progress and welfare.” He added, “I hope that the 2024 Asia-Pacific Science Museum Annual Meeting will serve as a foundation for science museums worldwide to take a leap forward by discussing issues that domestic and international experts have considered about science museums and sharing their experiences and know-how.”
