"President Yoon's Approval Rating Drops, Prompting Counterattack"
Cho Kuk, leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, recently commented on the prosecution's accelerated investigation into former President Moon Jae-in, stating, "When public outrage over allegations of corruption involving President Yoon Seok-yeol and First Lady Kim Geon-hee was rising, they suddenly claimed that former President Moon and Kim Jung-sook were more problematic," adding, "The timing is clearly for the Chuseok holiday dinner table."
On the 4th, on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' Cho said, "We need to focus on why an investigation that has been ongoing for three years is suddenly being revealed at this point," and added, "President Yoon's approval ratings are plummeting, and as people are getting angry over First Lady Kim Geon-hee's receipt of luxury handbags and the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations, they suddenly launched a counterattack."

Cho, who served as the Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs at the Blue House during the Moon Jae-in administration, was summoned as a witness to the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office on the 31st of last month regarding the 'Tae Starjet preferential hiring' allegations surrounding former President Moon. The prosecution is investigating whether there was any preferential treatment in the hiring process of Mr. Seo, Moon's former son-in-law, who was employed as an executive at Tae Starjet Airlines, established after former Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Sang-jik was appointed as the chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) in March 2018.
Regarding this, Cho claimed, "It seems the prosecution suspects that Blue House personnel were involved in Seo's hiring process," and said, "The prosecution appears to be focusing on Seo's hiring, which is why they conducted a search and seizure on Dahye and leaked to the media that former President Moon is a suspect."
He stated, "I was also involved in the usual personnel procedures for appointing former lawmaker Lee as SBC chairman, but Seo's name never came up," adding, "None of the attendees at the meetings even mentioned that name, so I cannot understand how something was done in exchange for that." He further added, "There was absolutely no special message or directive from former President Moon during the personnel verification and recommendation process for former lawmaker Lee."
He continued, "In the cases of former Presidents Park Geun-hye and Lee Myung-bak, the prosecution launched investigations because there was very concrete physical evidence, testimonies, and proof," and said, "But now, there is not a single fact linking former President Moon directly, yet information is being trickled to the media." Cho also said, "The issue of First Lady Kim Jung-sook lending money to her daughter Dahye occurred after former President Moon's term ended," and added, "The 'field watch' allegation against former President Roh Moo-hyun was also proven false, but at that time, everyone was outraged and attacked former President Roh. This is like starting a new operation at the level of a second 'field watch' incident."
