Daejeon Youth Tomorrow Foundation announced that it will select 509 scholarship recipients for the second half of the year and award a total of 510.5 million KRW in scholarships.


The recipients include 80 students for housing support scholarships, 140 for Youth Hope scholarships, 259 for Achievement scholarships, and 30 international students. By grade level, there are 90 middle school students, 90 high school students, and 329 university students (including 30 international students).


The housing support scholarship is awarded to students living in rental housing or dormitories, taking into account their financial aid status and academic performance. The Youth Hope scholarship is given to university students who have received student loans (for tuition or living expenses) from the Korea Student Aid Foundation, also based on financial need and academic achievement.


The Achievement scholarship is awarded to middle and high school students with outstanding academic and volunteer records, and to university students with excellent academic performance. The international student scholarship is given to students with strong academic records and proficiency in Korean.


After review by the Scholarship Selection Committee, recipients will be chosen by the end of November, with scholarship certificates and funds to be awarded in December. The maximum scholarship amounts are 500,000 KRW for middle school students, 700,000 KRW for high school students, 800,000 KRW for international students, and 1.5 million KRW for university students (with 1 million KRW for Youth Hope scholarships).


Applications for the housing support and Youth Hope scholarships are open until October 4, and for the Achievement and international student scholarships until October 11. Applications can be submitted through the Daejeon Youth Tomorrow Foundation website.


Meanwhile, Daejeon Youth Tomorrow Foundation previously selected 372 scholarship recipients in the first half of the year, awarding a total of 291.58 million KRW in scholarships.
