Poster guide for 'Digital Crime Prevention and Response Civic Education Materials' produced by Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is producing and distributing digital citizenship education materials for elementary, middle, and high schools to create a safe digital culture through the prevention and response to digital crimes.
On the 4th, the Office of Education announced that it has created "Digital Crime Prevention and Response Digital Citizenship Education" materials to strengthen customized digital citizenship education for the prevention and response to digital crimes by school level, as concerns about digital sex crimes such as illegal synthetic content (deepfake) are increasing in schools.
The elementary education materials focus on preventing and responding to deepfake crimes, proper sharing etiquette, appropriate use of social networking services (SNS), and correct use of deepfakes.
Additionally, the middle and high school education materials include content on preventing and responding to deepfake sex crimes, protecting truth in the digital world, posting and sharing on social networking services (SNS), and behavioral rules for preventing digital sexual violence.
Kim Tae-seok, Director of Future Education at the Office of Education, said, "We hope students will strive to prevent digital crimes themselves through digital citizenship education classes," and added, "We will strengthen digital citizenship education so that students can use digital devices with ethical awareness and responsibility."
