Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will hold the 2024 Jongno Welfare Expo titled "Meeting Welfare Within Jongno" at Marronnier Park in Daehangno on the 6th. The event is organized to introduce region-specific welfare policies and foster a social atmosphere of solidarity with the vulnerable in celebration of the 25th Social Welfare Day.
The commemorative ceremony will take place from 10:40 AM to 11:20 AM. Prior to the ceremony, a pre-event congratulatory stage will be presented by vocal music students from Seoul Arts High School and singer Song Minkyeong, the public relations ambassador of Jongno-gu. Additionally, awards will be given to residents, facility workers, and organizations who have diligently supported social welfare improvement despite difficult circumstances.
Meanwhile, from 10 AM to 3 PM on the same day, Jongno-gu will operate social welfare promotion and experience booths in collaboration with a total of 27 welfare facilities and institutions. The booths will provide information and experience programs across six sectors: "Children and Adolescents," "Seniors," "People with Disabilities," "Employment," "Health," and "Community Welfare," aiming to increase residents' interest.
Main programs include mental health check-ups, rental housing information provision, advance medical directive consultations, encouraging messages for out-of-school youth, disability awareness quizzes, and creating booklets featuring photos taken by people with developmental disabilities.
Additionally, participants can engage in making unique beaded bracelets or keyrings. A campaign to discover marginalized groups will also be conducted.
