According to Bloomberg News on the 3rd (local time), New York prosecutors said they delivered a letter containing this information last week to Judge Juan Merchan of the New York Manhattan Criminal Court.

Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney, stated, "Federal law clearly does not guarantee such delays as claimed by the former president's side," and added, "Previous attempts to transfer the case to another court before the trial were all dismissed." He also pointed out, "The defendant's expression of concern about the timing of the verdict is a strategic and time-wasting tactic."

Earlier, the Manhattan Criminal Court delivered guilty verdicts on all 34 charges related to Trump's hush money payments for sexual misconduct at the end of May. Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over the case, was scheduled to sentence Trump on the 18th of this month. However, Trump requested in mid-last month to postpone the sentencing until after the November election, and at the end of last month, he suddenly demanded that the case be transferred to federal court. Local media widely analyzed this as a strategy to delay the court's sentencing until after the election.

Judge Merchan is expected to decide on the postponement of Trump's sentencing on the 16th. If Trump's request is denied, the sentence for the hush money payment charges will be handed down as scheduled on the 18th.
