Resolution to Actively Support the Establishment of Infrastructure for Creating a Lifelong Learning City in Seocho-gu
The Seocho District Council (Chairperson Go Seonjae) pledged to actively cooperate in the lifelong learning city development project through the “Resolution for the Creation of a Lifelong Learning City in Seocho-gu, Seoul.”
The resolution, primarily proposed by Councilor Oh Jihwan, was adopted unanimously by all council members at the 1st plenary session of the 335th extraordinary meeting held on the 3rd.
The resolution includes a commitment to do its utmost to prepare all necessary measures for promoting lifelong education, such as budget and available resource support for the creation of a lifelong learning city, and the establishment of local networks, so that all Seocho-gu residents can learn without any discrimination.
Councilor Oh said, “In the era of digital transformation, with rapidly changing population structures and a super-aged society, the need to create a lifelong learning city is being emphasized,” adding, “I hope this resolution will help build a customized lifelong learning foundation and promote the project steadily.”
Meanwhile, the council plans to deliver the adopted resolution to the National Assembly, the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Minister of Education, and councils of cities, provinces, and districts nationwide.

The Seocho District Council of Seoul aims to actively respond to the era of digital transformation, rapidly changing population structures, and a super-aged society, and to foster the ability to solve social problems through customized lifelong learning for residents by doing its best in building the foundation for lifelong learning and fulfilling its role as a member of the local community to create a “Lifelong Learning City.”
Accordingly, the Seocho District Council of Seoul resolves to actively cooperate in all matters related to the lifelong learning city development project to improve the quality of life of Seocho-gu residents as follows.
1. To strive for the creation of a lifelong learning city so that all Seocho-gu residents can enjoy learning anytime, anywhere, and without discrimination.
1. To do its utmost to support the necessary budget and available resources to stably and continuously promote the creation of a lifelong learning city in Seocho-gu.
1. To actively support lifelong education promotion projects through the establishment of a lifelong learning foundation in Seocho-gu and the construction of a local lifelong learning network.
