Mother Appears Wearing a Mask on 'Mul-eobosal'
Singer Kim Suchan revealed family matters involving his father. This came after a woman who appeared on a recent TV variety show, claiming that her 'ex-husband is blocking her son's future,' identified herself as his mother.
Kim Suchan's mother, Ms. A, appeared on the KBS JOY program "Ask Anything" aired on the 2nd, where she expressed that her ex-husband, whom she divorced 14 years ago after enduring domestic violence, is obstructing the career path of their son, who is a singer.
Ms. A recalled that about a year after the divorce, her ex-husband came to see her son, who was appearing on a broadcast, claiming he wanted to act as his manager. She alleged, "My ex-husband took out loans under the pretext of covering the expenses for our famous singer son's activities and borrowed money from relatives and fans." Later, when their son signed with another agency, the ex-husband reportedly made false reports to broadcasting stations, calling their son a 'filial impiety who betrayed his father,' in an attempt to block his appearances on TV.

Kim Suchan shared on his fan cafe, "The last guest on today's 'Ask Anything' was my mother," revealing that it was his story. He said, "My mother came after filming, having received a promise that my name would be kept anonymous until the end. As a son, my heart aches." He added, "I think this is no longer something to overlook. Encouraged by the words that it's okay to be a little more honest and to be brave, I am gathering strength."
Kim Suchan debuted as a singer in 2012 and gained popularity by ranking 10th in the final round of TV Chosun's trot competition program "Tomorrow's Mr. Trot" in 2020. In May, he released the album "Majungmul Sarang."
