Chugye University of the Arts Has the Highest Average Tuition Fees
This year, among four-year universities nationwide, Chugye University for the Arts was found to have the highest average tuition fees.
According to the 2024 university average tuition fee rankings received by Jin Sun-mi, a member of the National Assembly's Education Committee from the Democratic Party of Korea, from the Ministry of Education, among 195 four-year universities nationwide, Chugye University for the Arts, a private university located in Seoul, had the highest average tuition fee at 9,239,000 KRW. Yonsei University ranked second with 9,195,000 KRW.
The third place was Korea Polytechnic University, a private university located in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, with 9,035,000 KRW. The top three universities all had average tuition fees exceeding 9 million KRW. Shinhan University ranked fourth with 8,818,000 KRW, followed by Ewha Womans University in fifth place with 8,746,000 KRW. Seoul National University ranked 146th with 6,035,000 KRW.
The university with the lowest tuition fee was Gwangju Catholic University, which charged 0 KRW. Among major universities in Seoul, the lowest was the University of Seoul at 2,397,000 KRW, ranking 192nd. Among the bottom 20 universities, 11 were education-related institutions such as Seoul National University of Education and Korea National University of Education. Seoul National University of Education was ranked 191st with 3,088,000 KRW, Busan National University of Education was 190th with 3,144,000 KRW, and Korea National University of Education was 189th with 3,178,000 KRW.

Among junior colleges, Seoul Institute of the Arts had the highest average tuition fee at 8,255,000 KRW, followed by Korea Golf University (7,930,000 KRW), Kaywon University of Art and Design (7,714,000 KRW), Baekje University of the Arts (7,545,000 KRW), and Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts (7,432,000 KRW).
Graduate school tuition fees were generally higher than undergraduate fees. Seoul Graduate School of Science and Technology was the most expensive at 18,799,000 KRW, followed by Seoul Graduate School of Foreign Languages at 17,200,000 KRW, Sungkyunkwan University at 14,592,000 KRW, and Korea University at 14,560,000 KRW.
