Samsung Electronics to Participate in 'IFA 2024'... Showcasing AI-Evolved SmartThings Experience

The Industry's Largest Exhibition Space
AI-Enhanced and Expanding B2B SmartThings Connection Experience

Samsung Electronics announced on the 5th that it will participate in 'IFA 2024,' Europe's largest home appliance exhibition held in Berlin, Germany, from the 6th to the 10th (local time), under the theme 'AI for All,' showcasing evolved connected experiences through innovations in artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the European market.

Samsung Electronics has prepared the industry's largest space of 6,017㎡ (approximately 1,820 pyeong) at the 'City Cube Berlin' located in the 'Messe Berlin' exhibition center, exhibiting a wide range of the latest AI products including video displays, home appliances, and mobile devices, along with differentiated services based on 'SmartThings.'

At this year's IFA, Samsung Electronics will present key solutions and the latest technologies of SmartThings enhanced by AI, divided into themes such as ▲security ▲privacy protection ▲sustainability ▲easy connection and control ▲safety and health ▲B2B solutions. At the entrance of the exhibition hall, a giant screen will show a video depicting the development of SmartThings over the past 10 years and the daily life changes brought by AI.

They will also unveil an upgraded version of the voice assistant 'Bixby,' applied to 'Bespoke AI' products, which can understand and respond contextually based on natural language. ▲Even if multiple commands are given in one sentence, home appliances can understand each intent, ▲it can remember previous conversations and connect to the next command, and ▲users can ask questions about devices and get immediate answers by voice. Along with this, the 'Voice ID' and 'Ambient Sensing' features, which recognize the user's voice and location to provide personalized customized services, will be unveiled for the first time at IFA 2024.

'Voice ID' is a function that recognizes individual users by voice, reducing privacy concerns while allowing commands that reflect personal schedules, interests, and health conditions. 'Ambient Sensing' is a location-based service using sensors that can activate the screen of home appliances near the user or, in the case of robot vacuum cleaners, move to the user's location and provide voice alerts. These features are scheduled to be applied next year.

Targeting European consumers sensitive to energy efficiency, Samsung Electronics has created an 'Energy Leadership Zone' to introduce innovative products and services that reduce energy consumption. Representative services include ▲the 'Bespoke AI Hybrid Refrigerator' combining an AI inverter compressor and Peltier elements ▲the 'Bespoke AI Washing Machine,' which saves 55% more energy than the highest grade (A grade) under European energy standards ▲and the 'AI Saving Mode,' which further reduces electricity usage in connection with SmartThings Energy.

An exhibition space where visitors can intuitively experience various experiences that Samsung AI TV, the core of AI home, can provide will also be set up to attract attention. In the Samsung AI TV exhibition space, various features will be introduced, including ▲'3D Map View' to check and control the status of devices connected throughout the home on a large screen ▲AI voice technology with upgraded 'Bixby' that understands natural language context and executes multiple commands at once ▲'AI Upscaling' that makes past videos more vivid ▲'Active Voice Pro' that clearly delivers dialogue using AI ▲and 'Generative Wallpaper' that recommends images based on user-selected conditions.

Samsung Electronics will also showcase the expanded Galaxy AI experience with 'Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Ring, Watch7, Watch Ultra, and Buds3 series.' Visitors can experience scenarios using Galaxy AI features such as 'Circle to Search,' 'Note Assist,' 'Translation,' and 'FlexCam' of the 'Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6' in a travel-themed exhibition zone. The new copilot+ PC 'Galaxy Book5 Pro 360,' unveiled at the IFA 2024 press conference, will also be exhibited, allowing visitors to experience the connected experience and various AI functions between Galaxy mobile devices and the 'Galaxy Book5 Pro 360.'
