"Use World ID on SNS like X and Meta"
Tools for Humanity (TFH), the developer of technology for the Worldcoin project, emphasized the necessity of 'World ID' to prove actual human identity in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
Alex Blania, CEO and co-founder of TFH, held a press conference on the 3rd at The Wine Collective Seongsu in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, to introduce the Worldcoin project and related technologies.

TFH leads the initial development of Worldcoin and operates the virtual asset wallet called 'World App.' However, it operates independently and is not affiliated with the Worldcoin Foundation. Worldcoin is an iris recognition-based virtual asset developed by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and was officially launched in July last year.
World ID is created by digitizing an individual's iris through an iris recognition device called 'Orb,' linking it to the blockchain, and verifying that the person is real. With this ID, users can create a World App to store Worldcoin.
CEO Blania explained, "Orb is an innovative technology designed to meet the increasing demand for identity verification in the AI era," adding, "The core of Worldcoin is World ID, an identity verification protocol that protects individual privacy."
According to TFH, as of today, the number of World ID authentications has reached 6,568,557. World ID is used in more than 160 countries.
CEO Blania also expressed his ambition to become a company like Facebook in the crypto space.
He said, "We considered whether we could become a Facebook-like company with global scalability of over 2 billion people in crypto," and predicted, "Currently, gaming and crypto companies are using World ID, but in 1 to 2 years, social networking service (SNS) companies like X and Meta will become the main users of World ID."
