Investment in Claidis and Yesplease
Startup nurturing organization Naver D2SF announced on the 3rd that it has made new investments in two North America-based artificial intelligence (AI) startups.
The startups invested in are ▲ Claythis, a generative AI-based 3D content creation startup ▲ YesPlz, a fashion-specialized multimodal AI development startup. Both teams have implemented the latest AI technologies into competitive products and are preparing for full-scale business operations.
Claythis has developed an AI solution that generates high-quality 3D characters and motions. It is a solution that automatically generates the entire process from '3D modeling' to 'pose', 'rigging' which creates the skeleton, and 'motion' that animates the 3D. It is characterized by achieving excellent 3D quality, including producing 4K resolution 3D.
Claythis is targeting small to medium-sized game studios and is preparing to officially launch its solution within the year. Several game studios have already expressed their intention to adopt it, and the company plans to expand its customer base in earnest starting in 2025. The co-founding team of Claythis consists of CEO Seongho Ahn, who has experience with two investment exits, and CTO Roger Hagen, formerly of Roblox.
YesPlz has developed a multimodal AI model optimized for fashion product search and recommendation. Unlike most existing product recommendation AI solutions that are text-based models, YesPlz achieves high matching accuracy with a multimodal AI that learns text, images, and styles altogether. It has built product tagging, widgets, and analytics tools in a Software as a Service (SaaS) form, targeting global fashion platforms.
YesPlz secured clients such as W.Concept and Kolon Mall through beta testing. By recommending products that fit user intent, it has driven increases in key sales indicators for clients, including cart conversion rate, purchase conversion rate, and cost reduction. The YesPlz team has broad experience from AI engineering to product development, with CEO Jiwon Hong having worked at Samsung Electronics and Sony Music.
Yang Sanghwan, head of Naver D2SF Center, said, "In the rapidly changing AI industry, it is important to sense the technologies the market needs ahead of time and quickly implement them into product forms with execution power and speed." He added, "Claythis and YesPlz each possess leading technological competitiveness in the fields of 3D content and fashion commerce, respectively, and will grow their presence in the global market."
