Osan-si Activates Emergency Transport Measures in Preparation for City Bus Strike

Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it has prepared an emergency transportation plan in anticipation of the Gyeonggi Province city bus strike scheduled for the 4th.

Osan-si Activates Emergency Transport Measures in Preparation for City Bus Strike

This is in preparation for the possibility that the final mediation meeting between the Gyeonggi Province Bus Labor Union Council, which includes unions from 45 bus companies in Gyeonggi Province, and the Gyeonggi Province Bus Operators Association may break down, resulting in a suspension of operations from the first bus on the 4th. If the strike materializes, it is feared that bus operations on 27 out of 43 routes with 137 buses within Osan City will be halted.

To minimize inconvenience to citizens caused by the strike, the city has secured six public and charter buses for immediate deployment and plans to respond flexibly depending on the strike situation. In particular, the city plans to offer free bus fares during this period.

A city official stated, "We will respond swiftly to reduce the inconvenience to citizens using public transportation," and urged, "Citizens are also encouraged to check transfer information between buses and subways carefully and actively use alternative transportation methods."

The city plans to provide information on the suspended routes and alternative routes through notices posted at bus stops, as well as on the city’s website and social media (SNS).
