Brutal Sexual Crime Against Wife Who Lost Consciousness After Taking Medicine
Recruited 72 Men via Internet Chat
"Thought He Was a Kind Grandfather" Shock
A French man in his 70s and rapists who drugged his wife to make her lose consciousness and then recruited dozens of men to sexually assault her are now facing trial.
According to foreign media such as Le Monde and The Guardian on the 2nd (local time), Dominique Pellicot (71) was charged with secretly putting sleeping pills and sedatives into the drink of his wife, Giselle Jellicot, from July 2011 to October 2020, causing her to lose consciousness, and then inviting anonymous men recruited through internet chats to his home to sexually assault his wife. A total of 92 confirmed rapes were reported.
The men recruited by Dominique numbered 72, including soldiers, public officials, journalists, delivery workers, and prison officers. Among them were former police officers and firefighters, which caused shock. Their ages ranged from 26 to 73. However, only 51 were actually brought to trial. Some perpetrators had died, and some identities were unknown. Some defendants were released during the investigation, and only 18, including Dominique, are on trial in custody.
It was confirmed that Dominique meticulously planned the crimes to avoid detection, instructing the men not to emit the smell of perfume or cigarettes and not to park their cars in front of the house.
The men involved claimed they thought it was a kind of "game" where Dominique’s wife pretended to be asleep and said they were deceived by Dominique into participating. They also denied the charges, claiming they were not rapists because Dominique was the one who proposed the sexual assault.
Dominique’s crimes were uncovered when he was caught secretly filming under women’s skirts using his mobile phone at a local supermarket in September 2020. More than 20,000 illegal recordings, including videos of his wife being raped, were found on his USB drive.
However, the victim, his wife Giselle, reportedly had no memory of being raped due to the drugs. Their children also never suspected their mother was drugged and unconscious; instead, they suspected dementia or neurological disorders.
Dominique is also a father of three children. Media reported that those around him were shocked as they had regarded Dominique as a kind grandfather and a good friend who enjoyed cycling before this incident came to light.
Meanwhile, only two people who entered the chat room operated by Dominique recognized it as a sexual crime and refused to participate. However, it is known that even these two did not report Dominique’s crimes to the police.
