116 Facilities Participate, Full Efforts to Prevent Emergency Gaps and Medical Service Disruptions
Yeongju City will operate an emergency medical care system from the 14th to the 18th to prepare for emergency patients and prevent any gaps in medical services during the Chuseok holiday period.
During the holiday, the city health center will run an emergency medical response situation room, and the emergency rooms of three regional emergency medical institutions?Yeongju Red Cross Hospital, Christian Hospital, and Jain Hospital?will operate 24 hours a day.
The city plans to operate an emergency medical care system involving a total of 116 locations, including the health center, 78 hospitals and clinics, and 34 pharmacies, to ensure that emergency and general patients can access medical institutions and purchase medicines without inconvenience.
In addition, a rapid response team will be formed at the health center, and a comprehensive situation room will be operated during the holiday period to ensure a swift response in case of disasters.
Information on medical institutions and pharmacies operating during the holiday can be found on the city and health center websites, the “Emergency Medical Information” smartphone application, and the Emergency Medical Information Center portal.
Citizens who have difficulty using the internet can receive guidance by phone through the 129 Health and Welfare Call Center or the 119 Emergency Situation Management Center.
Kim Moonsu, head of the city health center, said, “During hours when it is difficult to visit medical institutions and pharmacies, citizens can purchase over-the-counter emergency medicines such as antipyretics and digestive aids at 56 convenience stores that operate 24 hours a day. We will do our best to operate the emergency medical care system during the holiday period so that citizens and visitors can have a safe and comfortable holiday.”
