Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 2nd that it will hold a special promotion offering discounted KTX fares during the Chuseok holiday for one week starting from the 5th.
The discount applies to 579 KTX trains operating on five days during the Chuseok holiday?September 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18?excluding the day of Chuseok itself (the 17th). A 30% discount will be offered on some empty seats created due to the flow of passengers traveling to and from their hometowns.
Additionally, for customers planning trips during the holiday, a product allowing four people to ride together on the KTX for 99,000 KRW is also available. For the Gangneung Line and Jungang Line KTX, a set of four tickets costs 49,000 KRW.
This special offer is an online-exclusive product for KORAIL membership members and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. on the 5th until the 11th.
On the KORAIL website and the mobile app "KORAIL Talk," each person can purchase up to 4 tickets per transaction (one set for the 4-person bundled product) and up to 8 tickets in total over two transactions (two sets for the 4-person bundled product). If users are not familiar with using the internet or smartphones, someone else can purchase the tickets and use the "transfer" function to share them.
