Simulation-Based Education in Real Hospital Settings
From Surgery and ICU Simulations to Medical Living Labs
Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) has established the 'Glocal Clinical Validation Center,' which enables education and training based on simulations in an environment identical to an actual hospital.
Pusan National University announced on the 2nd that it will hold an opening ceremony for the center on the 3rd at the Medical Living Lab of the Clinical Validation Center, located on the first floor of the Convergence Medical Research Building (Building S) at Pusan National University Hospital in Amidong, Busan.
Various medical-related academic fields require research environments such as operating rooms and intensive care units, but in reality, it is not easy to frequently visit and use these facilities.
To address this, Pusan National University has established the 'Glocal Clinical Validation Center,' which replicates the clinical environment of a hospital, providing a simulation-based training space that enables more specialized medical education and research.
This center was created as part of Pusan National University's Glocal University Project for university-community co-growth, and can be used not only by members of Pusan National University but also by researchers in related fields from other local institutions.
The opening ceremony of the 'Glocal Clinical Validation Center' will be attended by Pusan National University President Choi Jaewon and key executives, Pusan National University Hospital Director Jung Sungwoon and executives, the Busan City Bio-Health R&D and Smart Healthcare Team, Seo-gu Mayor Gong Hansu and city council members, Busan Institute of Science and Technology Promotion Director Seo Yongcheol, Busan Technopark Life Care Technology Division Head and Center Director, and other distinguished guests.
The 'Glocal Clinical Validation Center,' opening on this day, will be newly established on the first floor of Building S at Pusan National University Hospital, covering an area of 809.8 square meters.
The center includes eight different educational facilities for various purposes: ▲Medical Living Lab ▲OR Simulation Room ▲ICU Simulation Room ▲Hybrid Room ▲Practice Rooms 1 and 2 - simulators for endoscopy, ultrasound, etc. ▲Studio ▲Multipurpose Education Room.
The establishment of the Glocal Clinical Validation Center not only aims to foster talent in the field of specialized biomedical convergence but also supports the demonstration and pilot distribution of the safety and efficacy of medical devices in actual clinical settings. Through this, it seeks to identify unmet medical needs and improve early treatment and prognosis.
