Synergy Creation After KG Fresh Absorption Merger
KG Hallis F&B, which operates meat processing brands MEASO and Neulcham as well as Hallis, announced on the 2nd that it has changed its company name to KG F&B.
In July, KG F&B announced the absorption merger of its subsidiary, the meat processing specialist KG Fresh. With all merger procedures completed last month, KG Hallis F&B has changed its name to KG F&B to strengthen its competitiveness as a comprehensive food company. The CEO remains Lee Jong-hyun, who led KG Hallis F&B.
This name change marks the first step for KG F&B to leap forward as a comprehensive food company. The word "Hallis" was removed from the company name to intuitively express the expanded business scope. Regardless of the corporate name change, brand names such as Hallis, MEASO, and Neulcham, operated by KG Fresh, will be maintained.
KG F&B plans to organize the Hallis division, which offers coffee and desserts, and the Fresh division, which focuses on meat processing, separately to promote synergy between each division. The strategy is to go beyond simply launching meat-based menus and actively utilize the strengths of each division to grow into a comprehensive food company.
The Hallis division, targeting consumers, offers a diverse menu and has strengths in marketing and branding strategies. The Fresh division, which has grown by supplying meat to businesses, excels in raw material sourcing, product manufacturing, and quality control. KG F&B plans to leverage these different strengths to expand its online and offline distribution networks and establish a presence in the domestic food and beverage market.
Additionally, leveraging Hallis’s infrastructure and overseas expansion know-how, which has successfully established itself in the Japanese market and highlighted the presence of K-cafes in the global market, KG F&B is also considering global expansion as a comprehensive food company.
Lee Jong-hyun, CEO of KG F&B, said, "Changing the company name to KG F&B is the first step toward achieving our shared goal of becoming a comprehensive food company. All employees will unite to stably operate our current businesses and do their best to become a comprehensive food company loved by customers through synergy creation between different divisions."
