"Right now, my very existence here is a shining star... As the star awakens me, I realize I was the star."
Professor Park Eunhwa from the Department of Dance at Pusan National University will host the modern dance performance event "Tuning -xviii The Star" for citizens at the Pillars of Remembrance in Busan Citizens Park on the 6th at 7:30 PM.
Since 2000, Professor Park Eunhwa has staged 17 modern dance performances under the theme of "Tuning." This upcoming performance is the 18th piece, focusing on "the star."
This 18th Tuning modern dance performance, held at the threshold of autumn, is structured in three acts: Act 1 - The Star Shining in My Space; Act 2 - The Star Shining in Our Space; Act 3 - The Star Shining in Our Shared Space. It aims to offer lingering emotions through music and movement to those weary from the scorching summer sun.
This is a free outdoor performance open to all citizens.
Professor Park Eunhwa explained, "My tuning work is a journey to find the identity of this era and my true self." Regarding the choice of "star" as the theme, she said, "My very existence here and now is a shining star. The energy of every movement that happens to us becomes a star, each existing as a different light. As the star awakens me, I realize I was the star."
Professor Park's work has explored the existence of the natural human body, presenting lyrical qualities through the free expression of actions and emotions rather than artificial expression, the impressive silence of unoccupied space, and poetic resonance through emptiness.
