Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will issue 'Seoul Gangseo Love Gift Certificates' worth 14 billion KRW ahead of Chuseok. The gift certificates for this Chuseok will be issued in amounts of 8 billion KRW at 11 a.m. on the 4th and 6 billion KRW at 11 a.m. on the 11th.
Individuals can purchase up to 500,000 KRW worth of gift certificates, which are valid for five years from the date of issuance. The maximum holding limit is 1.5 million KRW, and corporations have no limit but are not eligible for discounts.
The certificates can be purchased through the Seoul Pay Plus (Seoul Pay+) app and used at approximately 12,000 affiliated stores in Gangseo-gu, including restaurants, beauty salons, pharmacies, and convenience stores. Buyers receive a 5% discount on the purchase amount and a 30% income deduction on the payment amount, while small business owners are exempt from payment fees.
Meanwhile, the district plans to issue a total of 40 billion KRW worth of gift certificates this year, including those for this Chuseok. This is an increase of 5 billion KRW compared to last year's 35 billion KRW.
District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “We have significantly expanded the issuance scale of Seoul Gangseo Love Gift Certificates this year for consumers and small business owners,” adding, “We hope everyone has a bountiful Chuseok holiday by using local gift certificates in this era of high inflation.”
