The US Fair, held over two days on the 7th and 8th, will be attended by master's and doctoral graduates (or expected graduates) from major U.S. universities such as UC Berkeley, Georgia Tech, Yale, and Duke. LG Uplus recruited participants from various majors including electronics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, industrial engineering, statistics, psychology, and MBA through document screening, coding tests, and first-round interviews (online) starting in July.

The event will be attended by LG Uplus CTO Lee Sang-yeop and CHO Yang Hyo-seok, as well as AX Technology Group Head Jeon Byung-ki, Data Science Lab Head Cho Hyun-chul, and Research Fellow Park Dae-hoon, who researches AI-based technologies. Notably, Research Fellow Park Dae-hoon joined LG Uplus through the first US Fair held last year.

This year’s attendees are mainly talents specializing in AI fields such as large language models (LLM), natural language processing (NLP), vision, and speaker recognition.

The US Fair will be conducted as an invitation-only event where the company and attendees can communicate naturally. Participants will listen to explanations about the company’s AI technologies and projects they have worked on, interview with current employees, and gain an understanding of the company’s technological capabilities and organizational culture.

LG Uplus has focused on securing talent to transform into an AI-based digital transformation (DX) innovation company. In April, President Hwang Hyun-sik visited Silicon Valley and met with AI master’s and doctoral students from major U.S. universities to share the future vision of AI.

Going forward, LG Uplus plans to actively discover and recruit global technical talent, including in AI. The strategy includes visiting top universities in the U.S. to conduct individual recruitment interviews and promotional activities, as well as holding the conference-style US Fair annually to secure outstanding talent early.

Lee Won-hee, HRBP in charge of recruitment at LG Uplus, said, "Since this year’s event is held in Silicon Valley, we hope that global outstanding talent, including experienced employees working at nearby AI-related startups, will join LG Uplus and further strengthen our technological competitiveness."
