Park Myungkyun, Director General of the Prevention Policy Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, will be inaugurated as the 38th Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs of Gyeongnam Province on the 2nd.
According to Gyeongnam Province, the newly appointed Deputy Governor Park is a native of Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, and began his public service career in 1996 after passing the first local civil service examination.
Since then, he has held various positions, including Director of Address Policy at the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, Policy Planning Officer at the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute, Director of Public Safety Policy at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Director General of the Prevention Policy Bureau.
He also served as Director of Economic and Trade Affairs for Gyeongnam Province and as Vice Mayor of Geoje City.
The new Deputy Governor Kim stated, "With the vision of welfare, companionship, and hope, which are the guiding principles of Governor Park Wansu's latter-term administration, I will devote all my efforts together with the provincial government staff to successfully realize an era of happiness for the residents."
Choi Manrim, the former Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs, retired with honors as of August 27.
