S-Oil Supplies Korea's First Domestic SAF on Korean Air Incheon-Haneda Route

"Active Consideration of Domestic and International SAF-Dedicated Production Facility Construction"

S-Oil has opened the era of eco-friendly aviation fuel by supplying domestically produced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to international route passenger flights for the first time in Korea.

S-Oil announced on the 1st that it has started supplying SAF once a week to Korean Air passenger flights operating between Incheon Airport and Tokyo Haneda Airport. This is the first case of domestically produced SAF being supplied on a commercial international route.

On the 30th of last month, S-Oil held the inaugural commercial flight ceremony for domestically produced SAF at Incheon International Airport together with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Incheon International Airport Corporation, and Korean Air.

Minister An Deok-geun of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Minister Park Sang-woo of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Kim Sang-hyup, Chairman of the 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee, attended to celebrate this achievement. At the event, the government announced a strategy to expand SAF for carbon reduction in the aviation sector and the development of eco-friendly industries, pledging active support.
