From the 3rd to the 5th, the city of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province will host the 19th Korea Young Farmers and Agricultural Managers National Convention at the Nakdonggang Sports Park, organized by the Korea Young Farmers and Agricultural Managers Central Association and co-hosted by the North Gyeongsang Province and Gumi branches.
This year's convention, held under the theme "Add Youth to Rural Areas! Open the Future of Agriculture, Korea Young Farmers and Agricultural Managers!", is drawing much anticipation as it returns to North Gyeongsang Province for the first time in 20 years. During the event, about 40,000 visitors are expected to come to Gumi, which will greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy and promoting Gumi's agricultural specialties and tourist attractions.
The first day of the event will feature a pre-ceremony performance and a welcome reception, followed by the opening ceremony. Invited singers such as Jang Minho, Koyote, and Park Seojin will perform, and there will also be a drone art show and fireworks display.
On the second day, there will be a special lecture on marketing strategies for agricultural specialties by young successor farmer influencers, as well as a city tour exploring Gumi's cultural and industrial facilities. In the evening, Kim Jongkook will host "Singing Korea," featuring a singing contest and special guest performances.
In addition, a variety of experiences and attractions will be offered, including tourism and photo kiosks, workshops on making tumblers and natural detergents, exhibitions of agricultural machinery and local specialties, and a food truck zone.
Mayor Kim Jangho said, "Through this national convention, I hope we can confirm the future growth potential of agriculture and rural communities, and take a bold step forward so that agriculture can become an important growth engine for our society. I also hope visitors will create unforgettable memories with Gumi's agricultural specialties and tourist attractions, and further enhance their pride as farmers."
The Korea Young Farmers and Agricultural Managers National Convention began in 1989 under the theme "Who Are We, Successors of Farmers and Fishermen?" and has since provided opportunities for agricultural families to recharge, while advocating for agricultural policy reform and supporting farming activities.

This year's convention is expected to serve as a meaningful venue to reaffirm the commitment to invigorate rural areas with youth and vitality and to boldly open the future of agriculture for the sustainable development of agriculture and rural communities, which are now facing a serious crisis due to a declining and aging farming population.
