Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will issue the 'Yangcheon Love Gift Certificate' worth 8 billion KRW starting at 11 a.m. on the 4th.
The Yangcheon Love Gift Certificate can be purchased at a 5% discount through the 'Seoul Pay Plus (SeoulPay+)' app. The monthly purchase limit per person is 500,000 KRW, with a maximum holding limit of 1.5 million KRW, and it must be used within 5 years from the date of issuance. By downloading the app in advance and registering as a member and entering payment information beforehand, the gift certificate can be purchased more quickly and conveniently.
The purchased gift certificates can be used at approximately 9,724 Seoul Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores within the district, including pharmacies, restaurants, and markets. However, usage is restricted in certain sectors such as large-scale stores, entertainment, and gambling industries. If the gift certificate is not used after purchase, it can be fully canceled, and if a partial amount has been used, refunds are only available if more than 60% of the remaining balance has been spent.
Meanwhile, the district issued 4 billion KRW worth of Yangcheon Love Gift Certificates last January, which sold out completely in just 3 minutes, recording a total of about 9,000 purchase transactions.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We are issuing the Yangcheon Love Gift Certificate to reduce the burden of holiday preparations for residents struggling with rising prices,” and added, “We hope this issuance will make this Chuseok holiday a time when households and local small business owners can smile together.”
