Geumcheon-gu Hosts 'G Valley WEEK Festival' Blending Industry and Culture

G-Valley Week Festival Held from September 2 to 6
Industry Events Including G-Valley Export Consultation and Overseas Market Development Strategy Seminar
Cultural Events Including G-Valley Smart Marathon, Worker Cultural Events, and Geumcheon Fashion Film Festival

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the ‘G-Valley Week’ festival, a week dedicated to industrial and cultural events in G-Valley, from September 2 to 6.

‘G-Valley Week’ is a Seoul city-planned project held once a year since 2016. It is a focused one-week period that consolidates various projects carried out by individual organizations to improve the outdated image of G-Valley.

During the ‘G-Valley Week,’ the district has prepared various industrial events linked with external organizations and cultural events to promote community harmony in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the industrial complex.

As part of the industrial events, an export consultation meeting featuring 1:1 matching between domestic companies and overseas buyers will be held jointly with Guro-gu, the Industrial Complex Corporation, and the Seoul Business Agency to support companies in pioneering overseas markets. A seminar on overseas market development strategies will also be held with the Seoul Business Agency, inviting domestic companies and overseas buyers.

The cultural events are diversely composed to be enjoyed by entrepreneurs, workers, and residents alike, including the ▲Geumcheon Suni’s House Special Exhibition ▲Smart Marathon ▲Geumcheon Fashion Film Festival.

The ‘Geumcheon Suni’s House Special Exhibition’ is a special exhibition displaying items and photographs from the 1960s to 1980s of the Guro Industrial Complex, the predecessor of G-Valley, allowing visitors to share memories of the Guro Industrial Complex. It will be held at Gasan Hyundai Outlet from September 2 to 5.

The ‘Smart Marathon’ involves running through G-Valley from Guro to Geumcheon while carrying promotional QR codes for companies. It is a joint event between Geumcheon and Guro-gu, which are connected by G-Valley phases 1, 2, and 3, and is scheduled for 2 p.m. on September 3.

The ‘Geumcheon Fashion Film Festival’ is a film festival held since 2021, uniquely and first in Korea, themed on ‘fashion’ to issue and distribute creative video content related to fashion based on the clothing industry characteristic of Geumcheon-gu. It will take place from September 6 to 9.

Additionally, various events such as the ‘G-Valley Workers’ Cultural Event,’ ‘Smart Work and IT Technology Seminar Smart Workthon,’ and ‘Geumcheon Live’ are prepared. For detailed schedules or information, inquiries can be made to the Geumcheon-gu Office Regional Economy Division.
