Busan Dikasi Poets Association Publishes First Issue of Quarterly 'Korea Dikasi'

1st Anniversary and Launch Issue Commemoration Event

A quarterly magazine dedicated to Dikasi has been launched in Busan, drawing attention.

The Busan Dikasi Poets Association (President: Jung Yooji, Professor at Kyungnam College of Information and Technology, Department of Digital Creative Writing) recently held an event at the Centum Campus of Kyungnam College of Information and Technology to celebrate the first anniversary of the association's founding and the publication of the inaugural issue of "Korea Dikasi."

"Korea Dikasi" is a specialized magazine on Dikasi published for the first time in the Busan region by the Global Dikasi Research Institute (Director: Lee Kangho), an affiliate of the Busan Dikasi Poets Association. Starting with this inaugural issue, the magazine will be published quarterly.

The first issue features a variety of works, including "Challenger" by Kim Pangon (Ulsan HD professional football coach), "Dangsanmok" by Kim Daesik (National Assembly member for Sasang-gu, Busan), "Introduction to Dikasi Creation" by Lee Sangok (Director of the Korea Dikasi Research Institute), and "Review of Dikasi Collections" by Koo Mor Yong (Professor at Korea Maritime and Ocean University), as well as Open Dikasi, English Dikasi, Travelogues Written in Dikasi, Youth Dikasi, and Overseas Dikasi (Los Angeles and Chicago editions).

President Jung Yooji stated, "The birth of a quarterly magazine specializing in Dikasi in the international city of Busan is highly meaningful," adding, "We expect it to serve as a stepping stone to introduce Korean content of five lines or fewer to the global digital market."

Dikasi is a compound word of "Dika" (digital camera) and "si" (poetry), referring to a digital literary genre where poems of five lines or less are shared in real time along with photographs through online literary platforms such as Brunch Story.

The Department of Digital Creative Writing at Kyungnam College of Information and Technology (President: Kim Taesang) has signed an agreement with the Korea Dikasi Poets Association, with department head Jung Yooji serving as president of the Busan Dikasi Poets Association, to broadly collaborate in introducing adult learners to literary writing.

Weekday evening and weekend classes are currently offered at the Centum Campus. The program trains digital writers with creative planning and production skills through courses in photography and editing, calligraphy, illustration, and field trips.
