LGU+ Participates as Chair of 6G Forum at International Event... Sharing AI Use Cases

11th 'Global 5G Event'
"Will Contribute to Revitalizing the 6G Industry"

LG Uplus announced on the 30th that it participated in the 11th 'Global 5G Event' held in Delhi, India, as the representative chair company of the 6G Forum.

This event is a global gathering to share the latest trends in 5G achievements and discuss various topics related to 6G. It is hosted sequentially by global 5G organizations including ▲6G Forum (Korea) ▲6G-IA (European Union) ▲5G Americas (USA) ▲6G Brazil (Brazil) ▲IMT-2020 (5G) PG (China) ▲XGMP (Japan) ▲TSDSI (India).


The 10th Global 5G Event last year was organized by the 6G Forum in Korea, and this year's event, hosted by India's TSDSI, was held over two days from August 29 to 30 (local time) at the Bharti Airtel Ltd Network Operations Center located in Delhi, India.


For this event, experts representing the telecommunications sector from Korea, including Jang Kyung-hee, Executive Director of the 6G Forum, and LG Uplus, participated as speakers.


On the first day, alongside the opening ceremony, presentations and discussions were held on ▲AI and cloud implementation models in 5G networks ▲cases of multi-access edge computing applications using AI ▲regional 5G deployment cases ▲5G strategies utilizing AI and cloud.


Kim Jae-yeol, Senior Advisor at LG Uplus, gave a presentation on AI agents, focusing on expected future application cases from the customer experience perspective and the supporting telecommunications infrastructure. Subsequently, the coordination committee confirmed that the 12th event will be held in Dallas, Texas, USA, hosted by 5G Americas in May next year.


Lee Sang-yeop, Representative Chair of the 6G Forum (LG Uplus CTO and Executive Vice President), stated, "The 6G Forum will lead the telecommunications industry ecosystem by reviewing Korea's AI competitiveness through international cooperation," adding, "LG Uplus will also focus on digital transformation utilizing AI."


Jang Kyung-hee, Executive Director of the 6G Forum, said, "It is highly meaningful to continue events where global 5G organizations collaborate to discuss various topics on 5G and 6G," and added, "Through exchanges with more diverse global organizations and industries, the 6G Forum will contribute to revitalizing Korea's 6G industry."
