Presidential Secretary Lee Won-mo's Assets Total 39.1 Billion KRW, Highest... Kim Joo-hyun, Chief of Civil Affairs, 4.3 Billion KRW

112 High-Ranking Officials Disclose Assets

The property of Lee Won-mo, Secretary for Public Service Discipline at the Presidential Secretariat, amounted to a total of 39.13041 billion KRW, the highest among high-ranking officials whose status changed.


The Government Official Ethics Committee disclosed the assets of 112 high-ranking officials whose status changed between May 2 and June 1 of this year through the official gazette on the 30th.


Secretary Lee, who ranked first among current officials in terms of assets, reported ownership of a pre-sale right for an apartment in Yongsan-gu, Seoul worth about 1 billion KRW, a jeonse deposit of 400 million KRW for an apartment in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, and approximately 2.6 billion KRW in deposits. His spouse held a Tower Palace apartment in Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul worth about 2.14 billion KRW, a jeonse deposit of 1.68 billion KRW for an apartment in Yongsan-gu, and about 2.4 billion KRW in deposits.


The second highest in assets was Han Jin-ho, Chairman of the Incheon Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee, who reported 5.59803 billion KRW including a 600 million KRW officetel in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul under his name, deposits of about 350 million KRW, and an apartment in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu worth about 1.23 billion KRW under his spouse's name.


Choi Seung-jun, Secretary for Civil Society at the Presidential Office and a sixth cousin of President Yoon Suk-yeol, ranked third with assets of 5.51963 billion KRW.


The assets of other senior officials at the Presidential Office were also disclosed in succession: Kim Joo-hyun, Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs (4.27559 billion KRW), Kim Myung-yeon, First Secretary for Political Affairs (2.99503 billion KRW), Jung Seung-yeon, Second Secretary for Political Affairs (2.58969 billion KRW), Jung Ho-sung, Third Secretary for Civil Society (1.96382 billion KRW), and Jeon Gwang-sam, Senior Secretary for Civil Society (1.55245 billion KRW).


Ko Young-hwan, Director of the National Unification Education Institute at the Ministry of Unification and known as the "first defector diplomat," reported assets of 4.11823 billion KRW, and John Lee, Head of the Space Mission Headquarters at the Space Aviation Agency, reported assets of 3.79395 billion KRW. Oh Dong-woon, Chief of the High-ranking Officials Crime Investigation Office, held assets worth 3.3639 billion KRW.


Among retirees, former Daegu High Prosecutor's Office Chief Prosecutor Noh Jeong-yeon had the largest assets at 8.26969 billion KRW.


Former Chairman of the Jeonnam Autonomous Police Committee Jo Man-hyung reported assets of 6.51432 billion KRW.


Former Second Secretary for Political Affairs at the Presidential Office Jang Kyung-sang held assets of 5.50277 billion KRW, and former Secretary for Public Service Discipline at the Presidential Office Lee Si-won held assets of 2.66163 billion KRW.
