Mapo-gu Issues 24.85 Billion Won Worth of Mapo Love Gift Certificates for Chuseok

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) will issue Mapo Love Gift Certificates worth a total of 24.85 billion KRW in two rounds at 5 PM on September 4 and 11, ahead of the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

This issuance aims to ease consumers' concerns amid consecutive price increases and rising costs for setting up ancestral rites tables, and to revitalize local businesses through consumption promotion.

The first round will issue 8 billion KRW, and the second round will issue 16.85 billion KRW worth of Mapo Love Gift Certificates.

The Mapo Love Gift Certificates issued this time can be purchased at a 5% discount, with a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per individual. The maximum holding limit is 1.5 million KRW.

The purchase amounts from the first and second rounds are cumulative, and any previously purchased gift certificates count toward the holding limit.

The gift certificates can be purchased with cash or registered credit cards through the newly improved Seoul Pay Plus app. However, gift certificates purchased with credit cards cannot be gifted, and the amount that can be received as a gift is limited to 1.5 million KRW per month.

The gift certificates can be used at Seoul Pay affiliated stores within Mapo-gu. Detailed information on affiliated stores can be found in the "Find Stores" menu within the Seoul Pay Plus app.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “I hope the Mapo Love Gift Certificates will help reduce the burden of holiday preparations and increase sales for small business owners.” He added, “Mapo-gu will listen carefully to the voices of residents and merchants and pay close attention to every corner to ensure everyone has a happy Chuseok holiday.”
