Korea Polytechnic University Wins Award in 'Specialization Category' at University Library Evaluation

Recognition for Unique Specialization Projects Such as Openness and Spatial Innovation

Korea University of Technology and Education was selected as a recipient in the "Specialized Category" in the "2023 University Library Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service.

Korea University of Technology and Education announced on the 29th that it has been selected as an awardee in the "Specialization Category" in the "2023 University Library Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service.

The university library evaluation, conducted every three years, is based on quantitative evaluation (university library statistics), qualitative evaluation (university specialization services), and a satisfaction survey (user satisfaction). Korea University of Technology and Education improved its ranking from the top 60% in 2020 to the top 20% in 2023.

This achievement is attributed to the university's unique specialization projects.

Korea University of Technology and Education has collaborated with the local community by opening its library, hosting various film festivals, holding more than 100 "Human Academy" lectures with invited speakers, and providing book lending and reading room access to local residents.

Additionally, to realize "a space for learning, culture, and openness through library space innovation," the university expanded student study rooms, created rest areas, and established high-performance PC rooms. It also built a safe and convenient library environment by expanding smart seat reservation systems, increasing the number of reading rooms where electronic devices can be used, and installing unmanned book return machines.

President Yoo Gil-sang said, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility as a public institution by actively opening the library to local residents and utilizing it as a space for communication and growth together."
