The Daejeon City Election Commission announced that, with the Chuseok holiday approaching, there are concerns that politicians may commit illegal acts such as offering money or goods under the pretext of holiday greetings or providing rewards for being elected to the National Assembly. The commission stated it will strengthen its efforts to prevent and crack down on such activities.

The Daejeon Election Commission will provide guidance to political parties, members of the National Assembly, local governments, and local council members, focusing on major violations of political laws related to the Chuseok holiday. At the same time, it plans to swiftly and strictly investigate and take action against major election crimes such as bribery and vote-buying that undermine fair election practices.

An official from the Daejeon Election Commission said, "Voters should be aware that if they receive money or food from politicians, a fine of between 10 and 50 times the amount received, up to a maximum of 30 million won, may be imposed."
