The ‘Mid-sized Enterprise Investment Leaders Forum’ program is a networking and educational initiative aimed at discovering new growth engines for mid-sized enterprises, strengthening their capabilities in technology innovation investment and mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and establishing a healthy investment ecosystem led by the private sector. The first term, launched on September 7 last year, produced 40 graduates including representatives from mid-sized enterprises and investment institutions.

Key stakeholders attended the opening ceremony of this event, including Min Jun-seon, Head of the Deal Division at Samil PwC, Partner Hong Ji-yoon, Kim Min, Head of the Membership Division at the Korea Federation of Mid-sized Enterprises, and Director Lee Chung-yeol. To celebrate the launch of the first investment institution cooperation network in the mid-sized enterprise sector, National Assembly member Choi Su-jin from the People Power Party and Oh Seung-cheol, Director of the Industrial Infrastructure Office at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, also participated.

The 2nd term forum includes about 30 owners and executives from mid-sized enterprises such as DH Lighting, Abaco, Asean Fashion, Korea Carbon, and Hanse Yes24 Holdings, as well as around 10 representatives and executives from well-known domestic and international investment institutions.

On the day, National Assembly member Choi Su-jin gave a special lecture titled ‘Growth of Bio Ventures and the Role of Government.’ She introduced the growth process and policies of the venture ecosystem and stated that she would strive to prepare various support bills such as R&D budget support, activation of technology special cases and M&A, and tax reform to promote qualitative development of the corporate ecosystem.

In his congratulatory remarks, Director Oh Seung-cheol said, “In a rapidly changing domestic and international environment, continuous innovation is essential for the sustainable growth potential of companies,” adding, “We expect this forum to be a great stepping stone for revitalizing the investment ecosystem to secure future innovative growth engines for mid-sized enterprises. The government will work to improve regulations that hinder growth and expand financial and tax support to establish a sustainable growth foundation for mid-sized enterprises.”

Representative Min Jun-seon said, “It is a great honor to play a partner role in bringing together mid-sized enterprises and investment institutions to lay the foundation for the future of the investment ecosystem,” emphasizing, “I hope this forum will become a core axis that leads innovative changes in mid-sized enterprises and the development of Korea’s investment ecosystem, beyond simple knowledge learning or networking, as a place for building strong partnerships.”

Head Kim Min stated, “We will do our best to maximize the growth engines of companies and create a business-friendly environment through close network building between mid-sized enterprises and investment institutions.”

The forum will be held every Wednesday until November 6, consisting of a 10-week course including expert lectures and workshops. Renowned experts from finance, investment institutions, law firms, and academia will serve as instructors, including Professor Park Jae-hong from Korea University (Reinterpreting Entrepreneurial Spirit through Humanities), Senior Jeon Jin-woo from the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (AI Robots and Digital Transformation), CEO Park Won-jae of One & J Gallery (Art Market Mechanisms and Investment Strategies), and Lawyer Lee Sook-mi from Sejong Law Firm (Legal Issues such as Management Rights Disputes for CEOs).
