Jungnang-gu Mangwoo 1 District Accelerates Reconstruction Maintenance

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held a 'Mangwoo 1 District Public Reconstruction Maintenance Plan Change Resident Briefing Session' on the 28th at the Mangwoo Bon-dong Community Center auditorium.

This briefing session was organized to actively promote the Mangwoo 1 District maintenance plan, decided in July 2011, as a public reconstruction project to expand housing supply. During the session, the revised maintenance plan, including the floor area ratio relaxation for Yeomgwang Apartments in the 178-1 Mangwoo-dong area and nearby aging houses, as well as the zoning upgrade of Mangwoo 1 District, was explained to the residents.

Originally, Mangwoo 1 District planned to reconstruct 270 households consisting of apartments built in 1983, aging detached houses, and non-residential facilities into up to 13-story buildings with 420 households. However, according to the revised plan, the zoning will be upgraded from Type 2 General Residential Area to Type 3 General Residential Area, and the floor area ratio will increase to 271%, expanding the supply to up to 25-story buildings with 581 households.

Additionally, the maintenance plan includes the creation of a public parking lot, public office buildings, and public walkways, which is expected to resolve the parking shortage issue in Mangwoo Bon-dong and contribute to improving the convenience of local residents' lives.

Furthermore, through the designation of a special architectural district, the plan aims to revitalize the local community, improve quality of life, and transform the residential complex into a community that communicates with the region. As the long-delayed project is now gaining momentum, it is receiving high interest and positive responses from residents.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I am pleased to lead the resolution of the long-standing social issue of housing through the Mangwoo 1 District public reconstruction maintenance project," adding, "Jungnang-gu will continue to take the lead in improving the environment of aging and low-rise residential areas by activating housing projects in line with changing government and Seoul city policy directions."
