Conan Technology Signs AI Business Agreement with Rebellion

Artificial intelligence (AI) software company Conan Technology announced on the 29th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for AI business cooperation with AI semiconductor startup Rebellion.

The agreement ceremony took place the previous day at Conan Technology’s headquarters in Seocho-dong. The core of the agreement is the integration of domestically developed AI technologies. The main goal is to combine Conan Technology’s generative AI technology with Rebellion’s domestically produced generative AI-oriented semiconductor infrastructure to realize more powerful AI processing capabilities and lead the era of LLMs based on domestic technology.

In addition, the two companies will collaborate on expanding application cases of their technologies and business growth, developing and commercializing joint business models in the AI market, and jointly developing AI-related projects and discovering new tasks.

Since last month, the two companies have been building an on-device testing environment. Starting with ‘Conan LLM,’ Conan Technology’s AI software is being sequentially integrated into Rebellion’s domestic AI semiconductor ATOM. The two companies have been working together on development even before signing the agreement. In March, they participated in the Ministry of Science and ICT-led domestic AI semiconductor-based SaaS public project (K-Cloud), reviewing the feasibility of developing and applying AI predictive maintenance solutions in the ‘Conan PHM’ environment based on Conan Technology’s digital twin technology.

Through this agreement, they expect to improve the cost efficiency of AI technology and strengthen competitiveness through technologies specialized in low-power AI inference. They also plan to expand existing cooperation models and explore additional business opportunities, extending their business scope to defense, public sectors, and security-conscious clients.

Last year, Conan Technology released its self-developed ‘Conan LLM’ foundation model, earning a place as a native Korean generative AI on Stanford University’s ‘Ecosystem Graph.’ Recently, they have been accelerating the implementation of ‘Conan On-Device AI,’ which integrates voice recognition, inference and response, and speech synthesis technologies into ARM and AMD-based low-power processors, enabling real-time user command responses without internet connectivity.
