Geumcheon-gu Doksan Health Center Opens... Full-Scale Resident-Centered Health Management Begins

Opening Ceremony of Geumcheon-gu Doksan Health Center at 10 AM on the 30th... Customized Health Care Services for Local Residents Provided

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the Doksan Health Branch Office will hold its opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 30th.

The Doksan Health Branch Office was upgraded from a health sub-office to a health branch office through renovations last July, providing resident-centered integrated health management services tailored to individual characteristics.

The branch office was established with a total investment of 1.18 billion KRW, including a subsidy of 350 million KRW received from the 'Seoul City Health Branch Expansion Support' project selected last year and 770 million KRW from the district budget. It has a total floor area of 718.3㎡ and consists of one basement floor and two above-ground floors.

The basement floor houses a resident exercise room, oriental medicine health room, and physical therapy room; the first floor includes a health management center and a health longevity center; and the second floor consists of a multipurpose room, nutrition education room, small meeting room, and nursing room.

The opening ceremony will be attended by various figures including Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, National Assembly member Choi Ki-sang, Lee In-sik, Chairperson of the District Council, and about 100 local residents.

The opening event will include ▲ operation of health experience spaces ▲ congratulatory dance performance by a children's dance team ▲ project progress report ▲ screening of resident interview videos ▲ ribbon-cutting ceremony ▲ and facility tours.

At the health experience spaces, various health-related activities such as ‘Knowing Your Vascular Numbers,’ ‘CPR Experience Center,’ ‘Anonymous Drug Testing,’ and ‘Smoking Cessation Programs’ will be conducted.

The ‘Geumcheon Daon Sonkkeut Volunteer Group,’ a self-help group of parents of children with developmental disabilities, will celebrate the opening by providing nail care (nail art) volunteer services.

As a major project, the basement resident exercise room will host the ‘Geumcheon-style Health Wellness School,’ Seoul’s first integrated health education program, targeting 300 residents in the second half of this year.

At the health management center, any resident aged 20 or older can receive metabolic syndrome tests, medical health consultations, and exercise and nutrition counseling. The health longevity center provides home-visit health management services for elderly residents to receive health care while living at home.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We expect the Doksan Health Branch Office to greatly contribute to the promotion of health in the local community,” and added, “We will continue to spare no effort and support to protect the health of our residents.”
