The Criminal Division 1 of the Changwon Panel of the Busan High Court held consecutive hearings in the morning and afternoon on the 28th, completing the examination of all witnesses related to the case.

Mayor Hong, in collusion with Mr. A, who was the chief of the election campaign during last year's nationwide local elections, was brought to trial on charges of promising a public office to Mr. B, who intended to run in the People Power Party's Changwon mayoral primary, in exchange for joining the campaign.
Mr. A was indicted on charges of proposing a public office to Mr. B, who intended to run as a preliminary candidate, in collusion with Mayor Hong, in exchange for joining the campaign.
Mr. B, who reported both individuals, is also on trial for accepting the promise of a public office after being offered to join Mayor Hong's campaign by Mr. A.
In the first trial, the court found Mayor Hong not guilty, sentenced Mr. A to six months in prison, and sentenced Mr. B to four months in prison with one year of probation.
The court plans to hold one more hearing at around 4 p.m. on October 16 to conduct the defendant's examination and final arguments.
