Special Lectures, Transcription, and Recitation: Han Poetry Gifted to Citizens on August Nights
Busan National University Library (Director: Woo Kyun, Professor of Information and Computer Engineering) held the "Harmonious Han Poetry Day in August" event for Miryang citizens. The event took place from the 13th to the 22nd of last month, organized by the Nano Life Science Library at Busan National University Miryang Campus (Director: Cho Seonggeun, Professor of Animal Life Resources Science).
This event was held at Myeongnyundang of Miryang Hyanggyo, a venue that fits the theme of "Han Poetry," and was attended by Miryang citizens and Busan National University students.
Hosted by librarian Baek Suyeon, the event consisted of three sessions: a special lecture on Han poetry by Jeong Seoktae, a research fellow at the Jompiljae Research Institute of Busan National University, Han poetry transcription by participants, and Han poetry recitation. It offered both local residents and students an opportunity to learn and appreciate the thoughts and wisdom of scholars from the past, as contained in Han poetry, on a midsummer night in August.
The "Harmonious Han Poetry Day in August" event is part of the "Reading & Watching with Librarians" reading culture program, organized by Busan National University Library since 2019 with support from the National University Promotion Project.
