NewBotech Receives Environmental New Technology Certification for 'Non-Excavation Sewer Pipe Repair Technology'

Newbotec announced on the 28th that the "Non-excavation Full Rehabilitation Technology for Sewer Pipelines Using Steam Heat Recovery System," jointly developed with Nastec ENC, has been certified as a new technology in the environmental field by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute.

The new technology certification is a system that certifies excellent technologies developed domestically as new technologies. It evaluates the excellence, economic feasibility, and marketability of the technology and issues a certificate. Certified technologies can receive government support and become priority purchase targets for public institutions.

Recently, most areas have become urbanized, increasing the demand for maintenance of aging underground structures, posing safety threats to citizens due to defective pipelines, inflow of sewage, and causing traffic congestion complaints due to excavation repair works, highlighting the need to develop technologies that address these numerous drawbacks.

The newly certified technology is a non-excavation method for full rehabilitation of aging sewer pipelines. It is based on a steam heat recovery system that recovers and reuses exhaust steam generated during curing without excavating the road, thereby heating and curing the liner.

This technology can be applied to various pipe types (concrete pipes, PE pipes, PVC pipes) and pipe diameters (D300-D1500mm). Through data monitoring technology, the construction process can be checked in real time, improving construction quality.

Since 2021, the Ministry of Environment has announced a national comprehensive sewer plan that invests 332.4 billion KRW over four years to actively promote smartization in the sewer sector. This plan, aiming to establish a clean and safe water management system, includes a smart sewer project. Through this, a system capable of real-time monitoring and control of the entire sewage treatment process will be established.

The "Non-excavation Full Rehabilitation Technology for Sewer Pipelines Using Steam Heat Recovery System," jointly developed by Newbotec and Nastec ENC, is expected to contribute to the utilization and dissemination of full rehabilitation methods for sewer pipelines by simplifying construction efficiency and workability.

Newbotec was established in January 1994 and is listed on the KOSDAQ market. It is a company specializing in the manufacturing of water and sewage pipes, rainwater storage facilities, and other water and sewage pipes, holding a high market share in the domestic water and sewage pipe market.
