Trump Agrees to Debate Harris on ABC TV... Proceeding with Mute

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced that he has reached an agreement for the first TV debate scheduled for the 10th of next month with Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris.

On the 27th (local time), former President Trump stated on his social media platform Truth Social, "I have agreed with comrade Kamala Harris and the radical left-wing Democrats for the debate," adding, "This debate will be broadcast live by ABC Fake News, the most unfair in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania industry."

The debate rules are the same as those used in the CNN debate with President Joe Biden and will be conducted standing. Candidates are not allowed to carry pre-written scripts or notes.

Former President Trump said, "ABC stated that this debate will be fair and impartial and that no questions will be given to either side in advance."

Originally, former President Trump was scheduled to hold two TV debates with President Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate, on June 27 and September 10. The June debate took place with President Biden, but after Biden withdrew from the presidential race on the 21st of last month, the September debate will be held with Vice President Harris, who became the Democratic presidential candidate following Biden.

However, Vice President Harris's camp opposed the CNN debate rules, such as muting the candidate's microphone when it is not their turn to speak, leading to a tense standoff over the debate rules. It was judged that the mute rule in the CNN debate benefited former President Trump. During this process, former President Trump suggested he might not participate in the debate, claiming ABC was biased.
