At the end of summer, the '1st Gwangsan Water Rock Festival (hereinafter Gwangsan Water Rock)' that will bring refreshing joy to your heart is just around the corner.

Gwangsan Water Rock is a new urban water festival in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, jointly hosted by Gwangsan-gu Office (Mayor Park Byung-gyu) and the Cheomdan District Merchants Association (hereinafter Merchants Association).

From 2 PM to 11 PM on the 31st, lively music, performances, and various side events will take place at the Cheomdan Scenic Square to cool down the 'last summer' of this year.

Exciting EDM (Electronic Dance Music) performances featuring famous musicians including DJ DOC's Lee Ha-neul, water gun play, and street dance performances will welcome citizens.

Various programs such as a children's swimming pool (Kids Pool), flea market, 'Gamack Zone' where you can enjoy draft beer for 1,000 won, and the Cheomdan 1-dong Merchants Association character 'Ssang-i Ami' promotional booth will also be operated.

Gwangsan-gu explained that they promoted the hosting of Gwangsan Water Rock with the Cheomdan District Merchants Association to provide a cool place for citizens tired of the heat to enjoy in the city and to revitalize the local commercial district.

Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, “We will thoroughly check the festival preparation status and safety measures until the end to make the first Gwangsan Water Rock the most enjoyable and safest urban festival.” He added, “We hope many citizens will show interest and participate so that the festival can be successfully held as a new vitality for local tourism and economic revitalization.”

Meanwhile, to hold the Gwangsan Water Rock Festival, roads around Cheomdan 1-dong Scenic Square will be closed and operated as a 'car-free street' from midnight on the 29th to midnight on the 31st.
