Discussion on Bus Route Reorganization, Road Construction, and New Science High School Establishment
Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun: "Committed to Administration That Meets Citizens' Expectations"
On the 26th, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it held a party-government council meeting with the Democratic Party Hwaseong-byeong Regional Committee at Hwaseong Citizen University to promote major local issues.

At the meeting attended by Kwon Chil-seung, Democratic Party Hwaseong-byeong Regional Chairman, and Jeong Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong, the city explained that various agenda items such as bus route system reorganization, urban planning road construction, expansion of sports facilities by district, and establishment of a science high school were discussed.
Regarding the full reorganization of the bus route system, the plan is to establish district-based transfer hubs and systems based on big data and introduce customized local transportation. After completing the service through next year’s main budget allocation, a phased route reorganization will be promoted starting in 2026.
To disperse traffic volume and improve the local traffic environment due to urban development projects such as Hyohaeng District and Donghwa District, the construction of an urban planning road between Sindonga Famille and Hyohaeng District will also be promoted with a target completion date of 2028.
The party and government agreed on the necessity to expand sports facilities considering the characteristics of each district, and decided to conduct a survey service related to sports facility installation to review a balanced supply plan. The city added that the establishment of a science high school, for which a task force (TF) was recently formed and a feasibility study initiated, is also under consideration to apply for a new designation contest to the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education next month.
Other agenda items discussed at the meeting included ▲ expansion of the Gibae~Hwasan urban planning road ▲ prompt promotion of the expansion construction of National Road No. 84 (Taean 3 District) ▲ attraction of TechnoPol Hub Town (tentative name) ▲ promotion of the establishment of Neungdong 1 Elementary School ▲ introduction of an educational system for slow learners ▲ establishment of kindergarten-type public daycare centers ▲ expansion of youth support centers ▲ preparation of plans for large freight vehicle parking lots ▲ noise reduction efforts at Byeongjeom Vehicle Base ▲ establishment of Bongdam bus transportation hub ▲ expansion of the road from the Western Bypass Road to Dongmun Apartments and in front of Byeongjeom Overpass ▲ construction of the Wa-Uri Prugio~Sugibuncheon road ▲ expansion of the road near Byeongjeom Station on National Road No. 1 ▲ and creation of the Yongjusa Dulle-gil trail.
Chairman Kwon said, "Hwaseong City faces many challenges with population growth and urban scale expansion ahead of its launch as a special city," adding, "The timing of policy implementation is important, so we will actively cooperate to discuss and resolve practical difficulties that arise in the executive branch." Mayor Jeong responded, "The various local issues discussed at the council indicate the direction Hwaseong Special City should take," and said, "We will always listen to the voices of citizens and do our best to implement administration that meets their expectations."
