"Plan to Install 100,000 Nvidia Chips"
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, revealed the appearance of the AI training supercomputer center being built at Tesla headquarters.
On the 26th (local time), Musk posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) saying, "This is the inside of the massive AI training supercluster 'Cortex' being built at Tesla headquarters in Austin, Texas," showing footage of the data center-style computing facility.

The video shows rows of server racks stacked with computers in a vast space that seems to stretch endlessly. Musk added that this facility will "solve real-world AI problems." Additionally, Tesla is reportedly constructing a separate cooling system next to the facility to support the operation of this large-scale supercomputer.
According to the online media outlet Teslarati, Cortex is equipped with a large number of NVIDIA chips. Previously, Musk mentioned on X that Tesla plans to install about 100,000 NVIDIA 'H100' and 'H200' units in the supercluster at Tesla headquarters.
This large-scale AI supercomputer facility is also considered essential for Musk’s dream of achieving full self-driving (FSD) and the humanoid robot 'Optimus.' In June, Musk stated, "About half of Tesla’s approximately $10 billion (about 13.738 trillion KRW) AI-related spending this year will be used for Tesla-designed AI inference computers, sensors installed in vehicles, and Dojo (the autonomous driving training supercomputer)," adding, "The current estimate for Tesla’s NVIDIA chip purchases is $3 to $4 billion this year."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Musk’s social media platform X also plans to relocate its headquarters to Austin, Texas, where Tesla is located. This move comes 18 years after X was established in San Francisco in 2006. Last month, Musk announced the relocation of X and SpaceX headquarters, criticizing California’s law related to LGBTQ+ students 'AB1955' and San Francisco’s gross receipts tax system.
On the same day, Tesla’s stock closed at $213.21, down 3.23% from the previous session on the New York Stock Exchange.
