Chamisul, Number 1 in Global Distilled Spirits Sales for 23 Consecutive Years
HiteJinro's flagship brand, 'Chamisul,' has been recognized overseas as well, ranking first in global distilled spirits sales for 23 consecutive years.
According to the UK liquor magazine 'Drink International' in June, Chamisul has surpassed sales of whiskey, vodka, rum, gin, and other spirits to hold the number one spot in worldwide distilled spirits sales for 23 consecutive years from 2001 to this year. Last year, HiteJinro's soju sold 97.4 million cases globally (based on 9ℓ per case), which equates to 77 bottles sold every second.
Despite the global economic downturn and inflation causing sales declines for most major distilled spirit brands worldwide, Chamisul has maintained its top position without relinquishing first place since 2001, continuing its remarkable record.
Additionally, last year's sales of Chamisul were more than three times higher than the second-ranked Philippine distilled spirit brand, and it recorded sales approximately twice as high as the combined sales of major Scotch whisky brands, which have recently been at the center of the whiskey boom, securing an overwhelming number one position.
HiteJinro currently exports soju products to about 80 countries and is continuously strengthening its global activities. Expanding entry into overseas local home channels, participating in festivals, and enhancing sports marketing and other global activities have been effective in increasing product accessibility, brand awareness, and local consumption rates.
Recently, HiteJinro declared the 'Global Vision 2030' to 'popularize soju,' setting a goal to achieve 500 billion KRW in overseas soju sales by 2030. The strategy is to leverage Chamisul, the number one global distilled spirit brand, to advance as a comprehensive global liquor company.
