Derrick Morgan, Vice President of the Heritage Foundation, made these remarks on the 27th at the '182nd KITA CEO Breakfast Meeting' hosted by the Korea International Trade Association at the Grand InterContinental Parnas in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

The breakfast meeting was attended by over 200 executives and employees from KITA, including Chairman Yoon Jin-sik and major US trade and investment companies such as SeAH Steel and Korea Zinc.

In his opening remarks, Chairman Yoon said, "The leadership change in the US, Korea's second-largest trading partner and largest investor, will have a significant impact on global diplomacy, security, economy, and industry," adding, "We must closely monitor the trends and outcomes of the US presidential election and prepare thoroughly for its potential effects on Korea."

Vice President Morgan delivered a keynote speech titled "Trends in the US Presidential Election and Korea's Response Direction" and held a dialogue with Chairman Yoon.

Vice President Morgan emphasized, "The South Korea-US alliance is the anchor of Asia's economic dynamism and prosperity," and added, "Just as the alliance has brought mutually beneficial gains by enhancing cooperation beyond traditional security collaboration into various fields, we must actively seize future cooperation opportunities to continuously develop bilateral relations."

Anthony Kim, a researcher at the Heritage Foundation, stated, "Over the past decades, Korea has proven to be a steadfast ally of the US and a capable business partner," and stressed, "We need to strengthen the strategic alliance in various fields that require mutual trust and are directly linked to security, such as defense, advanced industries, and energy."
