She showcased precise shots and intense concentration to catch a 'big fish.' On the 25th (local time), at the St Andrews Old Course (par 72, 6,784 yards) in St Andrews, Scotland, UK, the final major tournament of the 2024 LPGA Tour season, the AIG Women's Open (total prize money $9.5 million), she secured a 2-stroke victory (7-under 281). This marked her second win of the season and her 21st career victory, including three major titles, seven months after winning the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January. The winner's prize was $1,425,000 (approximately 1.9 billion KRW).

Lydia Ko demonstrated accurate tee shots and precise iron shots over four consecutive days. She averaged 249 yards with her driver, and most notably, achieved a 75% fairway hit rate. Her greens in regulation rate reached 80.55%, creating numerous birdie opportunities. On the final day, she secured a birdie on the last 18th hole (par 4) to confirm her major victory. She accomplished the feat of winning a major at the St Andrews Old Course, known as the 'Home of Golf.' "The past few weeks have been unbelievably crazy. Especially since this tournament was held at the St Andrews Old Course, it feels even more special. Winning at this historic place with my family feels like a fairy tale."

She used clubs with excellent distance and inertia. Her driver was a Ping G430 Max 10K, and she also chose Ping G430 for her fairway woods and hybrids. Her irons were Ping i230 and Blueprint S, and her wedges were Titleist Vokey Design SM10. Her putter was a Scotty Cameron P5 GSS Tour CS Prototype, and her golf balls were Titleist Pro V1x.
