Dong-A University Software Innovation Center Successfully Hosts 'National University SW Achievement Sharing Forum'

17 Universities Nationwide Participate in 'SW-Centered University Project'

Presentation of Innovative SW Project Achievements and Technology Exchange

The Dong-A University Software (SW) Innovation Center (Director: Professor Lee Seokhwan) successfully hosted the '2024 1st National University Software Achievement Sharing Forum.'


As part of the 'Software-Centered University Project' by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), the forum was held over two days at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center (BPEX). Seventeen universities from across the country participated and presented their innovative software project achievements. The event served as an opportunity to strengthen technical exchange and cooperation among universities.


The opening speech of the forum was delivered by Han Jeonggyu, a professor at the Dong-A University SW Innovation Center, who emphasized the importance of digital innovation and outlined future directions.


Hwang Daeyeon, Team Leader of the Busan City Artificial Intelligence Software Division, delivered a congratulatory address, encouraging students' creative endeavors, introducing Busan's digital policies, and highlighting the need for collaboration with the local community.


Following this, Seo Giwon, Senior Manager at Unity Technologies Korea, gave a lecture on 'Success Stories of Korean Developers and SW Development Vision.' Renowned YouTuber 'Jocoding' also delivered a lecture on 'The Power of Digital Innovation,' receiving enthusiastic responses from participants.


Notably, this forum provided a platform for university students from all over the country to present the innovative software they had developed and to explore the potential of digital innovation. A total of 17 teams received awards in eight categories, including the Grand Prize and Excellence Awards.


The Grand Prize was awarded to the Dong-A University '3DNoiseMaster' team. Cho Minhyeok (Department of Computer & AI Engineering, 4th year) said, "I learned a lot through the exchange of diverse ideas and technologies at this event. The practical feedback from industry experts was extremely valuable, and networking with students from other universities will be a great help in future development processes."


Additionally, the Ewha Womans University 'ZPE' team and Sookmyung Women's University 'Pochakjuui' team received Excellence Awards, while the Paichai University and Chonnam National University joint team 'Gangnam Developers,' Busan National University 'Gureum' team, Dong-A University 'ReConlabs' team, and 'CAPTCHAIST' team were also recognized for their achievements.


The Dong-A University SW Innovation Center continues to play a significant role in establishing Busan as a hub of digital innovation by hosting various software (SW) educational and innovation events, including this forum, the 'SW-Centered University Yeongnam Region Joint Hackathon,' 'Local Government Cooperation RESIDENT Training,' and the 'AI·SW Teacher Academy.'
